Features
Study design
- Total sample size
- Number of study arms
- (med) Number of centres in multicentre studies
- (sci) Number of strata in stratified designs
- Load and save all settings for the study design
Details of the study arms
- Name of the arm
- Definition of the ratio of the sample sizes
of the study arms to each other
Settings for multicentre studies and stratified
designs
- Name of the study centre / stratum
- Sample size for each study centre / stratum
Block settings
- Block size for fixed blocks
- Block size for variable blocks
Random number generator
- Random number generator based on the algorithm of Park and Miller with
Bays–Durham correction
- Initial value for the random number generator (seed)
- Entry of the initial value for the random number generator (seed) to
check or extend existing lists
Randomisation list
- Lists with block boundaries
- Output of the seed
- Export of the list to a text file
- Print the list
- Copy the list to the clipboard for use with other
programs
Export of lists for label printing
For label printing, spreadsheet programs such as Excel are suitable. To do this,
the randomisation list in the “Output list” tab can be exported as a text file
with the study arms for further processing. Before exporting the file, the following
settings should be chosen:
- Switch off “Mark blocks”
- Switch off “Output seed”
- Click “Generate” for a new file
- The result then looks like this:
Test study
1 1 Arm A
2 2 Arm B
3 1 Arm A
...
- Remove the line with the study title
- Write column titles above the columns, separated by the Tab key
- The result then looks for example like this:
ID Arm ArmDescr
1 1 Arm A
2 2 Arm B
3 1 Arm A
...
